Free and Open Source Software in K - 12 Education

I work with school districts around massachusetts helping to integrate technology in order to increase student performance as well as test scores. One of the things that I am going to be doing more of in the future is giving teachers and students access to courses via moodle. I have created a few courses but I am also looking for courses for middle school math, algebra, geometry, and MCAS prep. Does anyone know of where I can find some good courses to use and download? The courses I have found out there within OpenLearn and e-subjects aren't that good as far as what I am looking for.

Ryan,
I am a social studies teacher in western Nebraska. I teach both face to face and online. The online component of our program was added this year. We have developed all of our courses from the ground up because we could not find anything out there that was ready to go that we thought fit our needs.

If you would like to learn more about our school click here to read a blog post I wrote a few months ago. Please feel free to take a look at the classes that are still being developed which are housed on our test server.

I learned a lot after teaching online for one semester and I have gone back and made some major changes in layout for my second semester classes. You can find the two classes I am currently working on here. They are World History: Semester 2 and US History:Semester 2. The enrolment key for both classes is history. Please remember these classes are works in progress and still need quite a bit of work before they can be considered finished. Unfortunately, the World History class is textbook based. My US History class is based on the US History II book from Hippocampus.org.

I welcome any feedback that you are willing to offer.

I have used Moodle for several years in my own middle school alternative classroom. I created all the courses and I have found that most teacher generated courses are kept within their Moodle. Collecting sharable Moodle content is a needed project. The curriculum may belong to the school and many teachers don't even know how to share it even if they wanted to. I have a new position as technology coordinator and a few teachers have express interest in Moodle. I have a website and an introduction to Moodle at www.learning2oh.com/moodle. login as guest and go to the Using Moodle course.
I also teach in MA at the Lower Pioneer Valley Ed Collab.

I am working with a group that is testing a Massachusetts middle school science curriculum that will be delivered through Moodle and LAMS. I don't know that exactly what you want has been created yet. But for open materials for creating it you might try:

What school are you working at? We are implementing a middle school science curriculum utilizing moodle and LAMS. Are you doing this through JFYNetWorks? That is my organization.

Hi. Moodle Commons () is a site where any Moodle courses can be shared. It is not very heavily populated at the moment but it would be great to see more courses up there so we can all start sharing.

Ill have to check out moodle commons. I don't think I've seen that one. All the others I have checked out and was very surprised by how limited the resources were, especially on the exchange within moodle.org.
