Thanks for your article. I think actually a better name for this group is beginner to FOSS/Web 2.0 and I have amended the group name. This is a good place to educate on the differences...I am still learning so much about all of this and which web 2.0 apps are based on FOSS.

Hi all - The demise of Iwantsandy and stikkit is a salient reminder of the difference between Web2.0 (aka Cloud computing, Software as a service) and true free and open source software.
This article on sitepoint has some good analysis.

Hi, everyone!
I teach in the face to face classroom and also teach on-line. I've been learning and using several new tools and was inspired by Will Richardson's book and presentation in Toronto in Oct 2008. He recommended that for us to use the technology with our studentst we had to use them for our own professional development first. So here I am, I recently started a blog and Business Studies wiki. looking to learn a lot more.http://smartbusinesseducation.wetpaint.com/

I love to work with others to move them toward Web 2.0 and OpenSource solutions to previously expensive alternatives. Looking forward to working with all of you - I see lots of familiar faces.

Hi there...I would say that we are all beginners...just when we "get" something...something new and wonderful comes out from around the corner. I am an aspiring tech director (truly...just made it as a finalist in a position) and would love to be part of this network. I have always liked classroom2.0, and this is a great off shoot of that.

The original Learning 2.0 Program. This site was created to support PLCMC's Learning 2.0 Program; a discovery learning program designed to encourage staff to explore new technologies and reward them for doing 23 Things. Since the program's launched, it has fostered Learning 2.0 programs all over the world.
