I am the lead admin for a public middle school in San Franicsco, California. I am a volunteer, which means that I need to be highly efficient in the use of my time in serving our school. As such, I am always interested in replicating any classroom successes that others can share with me.

We currently have an LDAP network running Hardy Xubuntu across 31 fat clients. We also have placed about 13 standalone clients in classrooms.

Our current obstacle is finding examples of using FOSS curriculae in classrooms that are as easy for teachers to adopt and deploy as non-Free programs. If you have any success stories about such deployments, please email me at einfeldt@gmail.com.

I am also making a documentary film about the process of migrating this school to FOSS. The film is called the Digital Tipping Point. I welcome submissions of raw .dv formatted footage of what is going on in other schools. Please email me to arrange shipment of external hard drives with such video. Thx!
